Ambassador of Finland visits Guaíba Mill

This visit seeks to explore the potential for collaboration, considering that the European country is recognized for its technological advancements and its expertise in the forestry sector.

With the aim of establishing a strategic partnership between CMPC and the Finnish government, on April 4th, the Guaíba Unit in Brazil received a visit from the Ambassador of Finland, Johanna Karanko; accompanied by the Trade Commissioner of Finland, Matti Landin; and the Honorary Consul of Finland in Porto Alegre, Geraldo Hertz.

This initiative seeks to explore the potential for collaboration, considering that the European country is globally recognized for its advanced technologies and also for its experience in the forestry sector. Furthermore, they have a significant presence in the pulp and paper industry, areas of great interest to our Company.

Antonio Lacerda, General Director of CMPC Brasil, commented that “the forestry industry directly and indirectly employs around 160,000 people in Finland and represents a considerable portion of Finnish exports, being one of the main branches of the country’s industry. Being able to strengthen this relationship is very positive for Brazil and for CMPC.”
