Engineer, went through the army, and monitored poachers in Africa: The story of the French pilot who fights fires in Chile
Mylenne Marionvelle is an agronomic engineer by profession, but destiny led her to become, for the past two years, the only pilot on the CMPC team combating rural emergencies.
“To be a pilot was a dream I had since I was a child,” says Mylenne Marionvelle, a brave 32-year-old French pilot who has demonstrated her commitment and skills in fighting forest fires in Chile, collaborating with CMPC as a Tanker Aircraft pilot.
Born in Lille, in northern France, near the border with Belgium, Mylenne is a polyglot who speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and French. With an academic background in agronomic engineering, her passion for aviation led her to spend two years in the military to become a helicopter pilot.
Later, she expanded her skills by learning to command airplanes, leading her to participate in humanitarian missions in Africa, transporting food and medicine to remote communities. Her experience and expertise led her to specialize as a firefighting aircraft pilot, a crucial role in protecting forests and preventing natural disasters.
“This is my second season with CMPC, and I enjoy it very much. I love this teamwork, where each person is crucial in the chain to successfully extinguish the fire before it becomes much larger. I feel a lot of pride in working here with CMPC,” emphasized the pilot.
