General Manager of CMPC is awarded as the CEO of the Year in Sustainability by the Council of the Americas
Francisco Ruiz-Tagle was the first Latin American to receive this award. This recognition highlights his commitment to the Company’s goals of having more sustainable and environmentally friendly operations.
Our General Manager, Francisco Ruiz-Tagle, received the symbolic statuette for his recognition as the 2023 Sustainability CEO of the Year at the “2023 Council of the Americas Symposium & 28th Annual Bravo Business Awards” event, being the first Latin American to receive this award. The award was granted by the Council of the Americas organization at the event held on October 20 in Miami, United States.
This recognition highlights the commitment demonstrated by Ruiz-Tagle to the company’s goals of having more sustainable and environmentally friendly operations in Latin America and around the world. Under his leadership, CMPC has become one of the largest companies in the industry on the continent, with over 95% of its forest assets certified for sustainable forest management and more than 90% of its energy consumed in its operations coming from renewable sources.
In addition, our Ruiz-Tagle participated as a speaker in this major event that brought together more than 500 business and government leaders, entrepreneurs, and pioneers from different sectors. The aim was to promote the exchange of views, practices, and partnerships between companies through debates and panels.
