Mobile Clinics available to the community in Biobío and La Araucanía
The initiative promoted by CMPC and Desafío Levantemos Chile will assist people from both regions, giving them medicines, vaccines against flu and the possibility of testing for the Coronavirus.
With the aim of decongesting the public and private health network in some of the most affected regions by the Coronavirus outbreak in Chile, since Friday, April 10, people from La Araucanía and Biobío will be able to obtain medicines, vaccines against flu and even testing for Covid-19 without having to leave their homes, thanks to a new concept called “Mobile Clinics.”
The initiative is promoted by CMPC and Desafío Levantemos Chile and consists of vans that will travel to remote locations in both regions, thus preventing the displacement of people.
Thanks to the “El Desafío es de Todos” campaign, the NGO managed the donation of CMPC so that the Health Services of both regions can operate these vans with the human resources and supplies necessary to provide quality care to vulnerable communities.
Ignacio Lira, CMPC Woods Public Affairs Deputy Manager, recalled that as an essential products company, it is not only concerned with maintaining supplies, but also with the well-being of their collaborators and the country. “The donation of two mobile clinics joins the donations of 100,000 diapers and alcohol gel for elder people. In addition, we are collaborating in the sanitation of different locations, and we are importing two machines to manufacture masks in Brazil and Chile, each with the capacity to produce 1,500,000 masks per month, and which will be delivered free of charge to the Public Health Services”.
